Policy Review Sessions

Policy Review Sessions, offered by TASB Community College Services, can help your college keep its policy manual up to date with law and best practices.

One of the services TASB Community College Services offers to our localized colleges is the Policy Review Session (PRS). Through a PRS, TASB Community College Services will help your college keep its policy manual up to date with law and best practices.

Why Is It Important to Review Your College’s Policies Regularly?

Changes in law, practice, staffing, or other factors may require changes to your college’s policies. Regularly reviewing key policies, including before the start of each academic year while the college updates the student and employee handbooks, familiarizes college officials and employees with the structure and content of the college’s policy manual and provides the opportunity to verify that the college’s policy manual is legally compliant and matches college practices.

How Does a PRS Work?

Your TASB policy consultant will travel to your college to conduct an extensive and interactive review of the college’s policies with a team of officials and employees selected by the college.

The PRS will be customized to meet your college’s needs. Your college may choose to focus on select sections of the college’s policy manual or to review the entire manual.

We recommend a complete review of your college’s policy manual every five to seven years.
